  • What services does Handyman General offer?

Handyman General provides everyday residential and light commercial repairs, installations, maintenance, and improvements. This ranges from small “honey-do list” items to larger, multi-day projects. Services are offered through a combination of flat-rate pricing for defined tasks and hourly services for labor-based or variable-scope work.

    How does your pricing work?

We offer two clear pricing options depending on the type of work being performed:

Pay by the Job (Flat-Rate Pricing)

Best for common, clearly defined tasks with a specific outcome. Pricing is based on the service itself, not the time it takes. So you know the cost before scheduling.

Pay by the Hour (Hourly Services)

Best for labor, demolition, troubleshooting, prep work, multiple small tasks, or projects where scope or duration can vary.

Flat-rate pricing cannot be reduced or bypassed by booking the same work under hourly services

    What does "variable scope" mean?

A variable scope refers to work where the exact time, complexity, or steps required cannot be fully determined upfront. Examples include troubleshooting issues, demolition or prep work, multiple small repairs, or projects where conditions may change once work begins. Hourly pricing allows flexibility while ensuring you only pay for the time and level of work required.

What hourly service options do you offer?

Handyman General offers two hourly service options, depending on the

    type of work:

    General Labor

Best for demolition, prep work, cleanup, and physically demanding tasks where efficiency matters more than troubleshooting.

    Skilled Handyman

Best for repairs, installations, troubleshooting, and hands-on assistance with more complex or technical projects.

This structure ensures customers aren’t overpaying for simple labor or underpaying for skilled work.

    What are your hourly rates?

Hourly rates vary based on service type and time booked:

    General Labor

    • $90/hr (2-hour standard)

    • 1-hour option available at $115/hr

    • Discounted rates apply for longer bookings, including half-day and full-day options

    Handyman Tech

    • $120/hr (2-hour standard)

    • 1-hour option available at $140/hr

    • Higher hourly rate reflecting experience and problem-solving ability

    • Discounted rates apply for longer bookings

Exact pricing is shown clearly at booking so you can choose the option that fits your needs.

Do you have a minimum charge?

Yes. Flat-rate jobs have a $150 minimum, and all hourly bookings have a one-hour minimum. This covers travel, setup, and time allowing multiple tasks to be completed during the visit.

Can I complete multiple small jobs in one visit?

Yes. Hourly services are commonly used to complete a list of small tasks during a single visit. Work is prioritized based on your needs and the time booked.

How do flat-rate "pay by the job" prices work?

Flat-rate pricing applies to common services such as TV mounting, ceiling fan installations, fixture replacements, and similar tasks with a defined scope and outcome. These prices reflect the skill, responsibility, and standards required to complete the work properly and cannot be converted to hourly pricing.

Can you help with larger projects or remodels?

Yes. Larger projects are handled through a structured estimating and planning process. A written estimate is provided and approved before work begins.
