Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Handyman General. By scheduling or authorizing service, you agree to the terms below.
 

Scope of Services

Handyman General provides general home and commercial maintenance and repair services. We do not perform work requiring licensed trades unless explicitly stated. We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe, non-compliant, or outside the agreed scope.

Flat-Rate Pricing

Flat-rate pricing covers labor and standard materials only, as defined by the specific service selected. Flat-rate pricing does NOT include:

  • Specialty or custom materials

  • Paint, stain, finishes, or color-matched products unless explicitly stated

  • Fixtures, appliances, hardware, or customer-selected products

  • Materials required due to hidden damage, prior poor workmanship, or non-standard conditions

If additional materials are required, they will be:

  • Supplied by the customer or

  • Purchased by Handyman General and billed separately with approval

Flat-rate pricing is based on the information provided at booking. If actual conditions differ, pricing may be adjusted or converted to hourly service before work continues.

Hourly Services

Hourly services are billed based on time on site and technician skill level. Time includes work performed, troubleshooting, setup, and cleanup. Minimum charges may apply.

Changes, Scope Creep & Customer Modifications

Any changes to the original scope of work must be approved before proceeding. We are not responsible for:

  • Customer modifications or repairs made before, during, or after our service

  • Damage caused by customer-supplied materials or instructions

  • Repairs altered, tampered with, or reversed by the customer or third parties

If a customer alters completed work, Handyman General is not liable for resulting issues or rework.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate job details

  • Ensuring safe and clear access to the work area

  • Securing pets, children, valuables, and fragile items

  • Identifying hazards such as weak surfaces, concealed wiring, or plumbing

Failure to do so may result in delays, additional charges, or refusal of service.

Safety & Liability Disclaimer

Handyman General is not responsible for injuries or damages resulting from:

  • Customer or third-party actions

  • Trip hazards such as cords, tools, materials, or equipment in active work areas

  • Unsafe conditions not disclosed prior to service

  • Structural, electrical, or plumbing issues concealed within walls, floors, or ceilings

Customers acknowledge that repair and maintenance work involves inherent risks and agree to assume responsibility for their environment.

Pre-Existing & Concealed Conditions

We are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing damage

  • Hidden defects

  • Structural failures

  • Issues discovered after work begins that were not reasonably visible or disclosed

Discovery of such conditions may require additional work, referral to a licensed professional, or termination of service.

Payments

Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise stated. We accept digital payment methods only. Non-payment may result in service suspension, late fees, or collections.

Cancellations & No-Shows

Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a fee. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are billable. Emergency or priority bookings are non-refundable once dispatched.

Warranty & Limitations

We warrant workmanship only for the specific service performed. This warranty does not apply to:

  • Customer-supplied materials

  • Customer modifications

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Environmental factors

  • Improper use or maintenance

Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the service performed.

SMS/Text Communications

By providing your phone number during booking or service requests, you consent to receive automated

SMS/text messages for transactional purposes (e.g., booking confirmations, arrival ETAs, job updates, invoices) and, if you have opted in, promotional or marketing messages. Message frequency varies based on your interactions (typically 1-5 per job or as needed for service). Msg & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delays or delivery issues. Final Authority

Handyman General retains sole discretion regarding:

  • Service eligibility

  • Pricing adjustments

  • Safety determinations

  • Acceptance or refusal of work

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Austin, Texas.

 

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
